Adults without age appropriate vaccinations
Percent of adults age 18 and older who did not receive a flu shot in the past year and a pneumonia vaccine ever if age 65 and older
About this data measure
- Adults need immunizations to prevent them from getting and spreading diseases like the flu and pneumonia. All adults should get a flu vaccine each year and those 65 years or older should get a pneumonia vaccine. (Source: CDC)
- The percent of Rhode Island adults without all age-appropriate vaccines has declined since 2018.
- Black, Hispanic, American Indian or Alaskan Native, and multiracial Rhode Islanders are less likely to have all age-appropriate vaccines than other groups, highlighting the need for targeted efforts to increase vaccination rates among racial/ethnic minority older adults.
