About this data measure
- Diabetes is a chronic (long-lasting) health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. Over time, high blood sugar levels can cause serious health problems, including heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease.
- The prevalence of diabetes in Rhode Island has slightly increased since 2016.
- Adults with less than a high school education have consistently had a higher prevalence of diabetes than those with more education, and this disparity has increased since 2017.
